ABOUT THE ROLE:

 

GWA are seeking experienced and determined Shift Coordinators to provide support with respect to compliance towards company policies and procedures, safeworking responsibilities, code of ethics and conduct. This role will also promote continuous improvement, on-going learning, and operational efficiencies in the workplace and demonstrate a high safety focus to all operating staff.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide instruction and guidance to all operating staff (locomotive drivers and rail operators).
  • Ensure that all operating staff are supervised in accordance with GWA policies and procedures and safe working regulations.
  • Monitor and manage network train crew and locomotive performance in relation to best operational outcomes.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of all staff and yard operations.
  • Maintain a robust auditing schedule for all crew incidentals including vehicles, fuel cards, radios, mobile phones and monitor subsequent damage.
  • Efficient coordination of incident recovery.

 You will be expected to work a rotating 24/7 roster.

 

ABOUT YOU:

 

In addition to having extensive experience in transport and logistics operations, you will also have a positive, can- do attitude and be able to plan and manage workload requirements within a timely manner. You will also be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Leadership in attitude and compliance towards safety
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Great problem solving skills
  • Flexible approach to work including a willingness to embrace change positively and to take an active part in the change process.
