About Us

One Rail Australia Pty Ltd (Formally Genesee & Wyoming Australia) is a progressive and established rail owner and operator in South Australia, New South Wales and the Northern Territory with over 600 staff. Within Australia ORA owns and operates the 2,200km Tarcoola to Darwin railroad as well as a number of New South Wales and regional South Australian railroads servicing bulk minerals and agricultural customers.

About the Role

Based in Mayfield West, the Service Delivery Specialist will be responsible for performing medium and short-term planning of One Rail Australia resources to meet its contractual obligations with freight customers in the Eastern Region whilst optimising resources. Working closely with customers, external stakeholders and the operations team you will achieve customer and operational targets as well as facilitate improvement of business efficiency.

  • Develop monthly and weekly operating plans to deliver customer orders.
  • Identify opportunities for additional orders where there is surplus fleet capacity.
  • Plan requirements for stowing of rollingstock as required.
  • Ensure compliance to contractual obligations and operational targets.
  • Work closely with the maintenance team to meet the service schedule of rollingstock.
  • Provide specialist support to live run.
  • Work closely with customers.
  • Measure and report on operating performance to meet operational and customer KPI’s.
  • Assist in the planning of new business activities.
  • Identify operational requirements to assist in quoting for business.

About You

In addition to having extensive experience in a similar role, you will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience in logistics planning in a complex supply chain with significant interfaces.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with key stakeholders to achieve deadlines and respond to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to develop internal and external relationships quickly.
  • Leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Sound rail network knowledge and disruption management skills.


  • Tertiary qualifications.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Hunter Valley network.
