About Us
One Rail Australia Australia Pty Ltd (formally known as Genesse & Wyoming Australia) is a progressive and established rail owner and operator in South Australia, New South Wales and the Northern Territory with over 650 staff. Within Australia GWA owns and operates the 2,200km Tarcoola to Darwin railroad as well as a number of New South Wales and regional South Australian railroads servicing bulk minerals and agricultural customers.

About the Role
ORA prides itself on its supreme customer service and commitment to safety so we are looking for likeminded people who are willing to align with our Company values, to fill sereval trainee positions, commemncing as a Trainee Locomotive Driver. The positions will be based in Whyalla.

ORA will support you through and provide you with all of the training you need to become a fully Qualified Locomotive Driver. Upon completion of your training contract, which will take approximately 2 1/2 – 3 years, you will be able to operate a locomotive and provide operational support to ensure the safe and efficient working of short haul train movements throughout the Whyalla region.

About You
ORA is looking for candidates with various backgrounds who want to build an exciting and rewarding career as a Locomotive Driver. Previous industry experience is not a requirement of this role, however it is essential that you are able to demonstrate the following:
 Sound mechanical aptitude
 Above average numeracy and literacy skills
 Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot challenges as they arise
 Proven ability to maintain high levels of concentration for long periods of time
 Dedicated commitment to safety including working within stringent safety protocols and procedures at all times
 Ability to work a 24/7 roster including night shifts, weekends and public holidays
 The ability to work as part of a team and the rail community
 Hold an unrestricted motor vehicle licence.


The Process
As part of ORA’s recruitment and selection process, short listed applicants will be required to:
 Successfully complete and pass literacy, numeracy, mechanical comprehension and concentration testing.
 Provide a recent national criminal history check.
 Successfully complete a Category 1 pre-employment health assessment.

Current C Class or higher Drivers Licence
